What We Believe
Our faith is founded on the Word of God. This statement of faith summarizes what carries us as Missions-Zentrum and what we pass on through teaching, praise and worship.
Our Statement of Faith in 10 Points
1. The Bible – God’s Word
We believe that the whole Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is God’s reliable Word and the authoritative standard for our faith, our teaching and our lives.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13
2. The Triune God
We believe in the one God who has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father is the source of all things, Jesus Christ is the eternal Word who became flesh, and the Holy Spirit is sent by the Father and the Son.
Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1, 14, 18; 14:16; 15:26; Philippians 2:6
3. Mankind and Redemption
God created man in His image. Through sin, man is separated from God. Jesus Christ has reconciled us to God through His life, His death and His blood.
Romans 3:10, 23; 5:14; 1 John 3:8
4. New Birth and Eternal Life
Salvation is a gift of grace. We receive it through faith in Jesus Christ – not through our own works. Whoever repents and receives Jesus is born again and has eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8–10; 2 Corinthians 7:10; John 3:3–5; 1 John 5:12
5. Water Baptism
We baptize people who consciously believe in Jesus by immersion. Baptism is a visible sign that we have died with Christ, been buried with Him and raised to a new life.
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36–39
6. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to all believers. It gives power to be witnesses for Jesus and is accompanied by speaking in new tongues.
Matthew 3:11; John 14:16–17; Acts 2:1–4, 38–39; 19:1–7
7. A Sanctified Life
God calls us to a holy life. Sanctification is a journey of growth in grace – from the new birth until the return of Jesus.
Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Philippians 2:12–14; 2 Peter 3:18
8. Divine Healing
Healing is part of Jesus’ work of redemption and remains true today. We pray for the sick in faith and with the laying on of hands, trusting in God’s power.
Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14–15; 1 Peter 2:24
9. The Return of Jesus and the Resurrection
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again. The dead in Christ will rise, and the living believers will be caught up to meet the Lord. After the time of the Great Tribulation, Jesus will reign as King on the earth for a thousand years, and His saints will reign with Him.
Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 5:10; 20:6
10. Hell and Eternal Judgment
Whoever dies without having received Jesus Christ as Savior is eternally lost. The Bible describes this place as a lake of fire, and we take this literally. After death there is no further opportunity to repent. That is why it is our heart’s desire that people come to know Jesus now.
Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; 20:11–15
