“I wish I had more faith.” You hear that a lot. The good news: God has shown us exactly how faith comes and how it grows. You don’t have to wait for it to fall on you someday.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

Faith Has a Source

Faith does not drop from the sky by chance, and it is not a matter of personality. Paul says it clearly: faith comes by hearing—and hearing by the Word of God. Where God’s Word is, faith comes. Where there is much Word, there is much faith.

God’s Word is quick and powerful (see Hebrews 4:12). It carries not just information but God’s power. When you receive His Word, you receive faith that moves mountains. The more Word, the more faith!

Hear It, Read It, Speak It

Joshua was told not to let the Word depart out of his mouth and to meditate on it day and night (see Joshua 1:8). Notice: out of his mouth. When you speak God’s Word with your own mouth, you hear it twice—and your faith grows even faster.

That is why it pays to listen to faith-building sermons, to read the Bible aloud and to memorize verses. That is exactly what our free CD “SEIN WORT – Heilung” (in German) is for: hearing God’s promises again and again until they are firmly anchored in your heart.

Faith is not a one-time experience; it keeps growing. Man shall live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (see Matthew 4:4). Whoever feeds on the Word every day grows strong in faith—and that faith shows up in every area of life.

Faith Challenge for This Week

  • Read one Bible verse aloud every day—in the morning, before the day catches up with you.
  • Choose a promise you need right now and speak it over your life every day.
  • Make a point of listening to a sermon or teaching on faith this week—and notice how your faith grows.

Which Bible verse is strengthening your faith right now? Let us know in the comments under the post on Facebook—we are standing with you in faith.
